VfB Stuttgart aims to win against Bremen
VfB Stuttgart has brought an important point in the relegation battle to kick off the 23rd Bundesliga match day. The team of Markus Weinzierl unbuttoned Werder Bremen with a strong, combative performance of a 1-1 (1-1), but still waiting for eight games for a win.
The VfB surprised Werder with an enormously alert, physical and run-happy appearance. Zuber brought the home side against unsorted Bremer after just 61 seconds in the lead. It took Bremen a quarter of an hour to take control of the match. But against the closely staggered defenses of the Stuttgarter Werder lacked the punch.
Kruse dropped as usual to take on the game, but hardly got into the spaces himself. Castro, Zuber and Ascacibar closed the center with great effort. Werder had little to do with the last strong outside.
Klaassen met shortly before the break to the somewhat flattering balance from a distance. Before Stuttgart would have had to increase in person of Gomez (9., 44.). In general, VfB lacked precision and right decisions in the offensive switching game.
Weinzierl was forced to change at half-time. Kempf stayed in the cabin because of nausea, Gentner came and Stuttgart switched from a five- to a four-chain. The game did not bother.
Only with the inclusion of Pizarro as the second ball distributor next to Kruse Werder was again variable and compelling. Zieler prevented his late defeat with his parry against Gebre Selassie. The point is in view of the first half but completely fine.
Goals: 0: 1 Zuber (2nd), 1: 1 Klaassen (45.)
