Max Verstappen says that he is motivated to fight for the pedestal although he would like to win.

The Red Bull driver lives in all aspects, his best start of the season in Formula One. The Dutchman finished all six races, always ahead of one Ferrari driver – but never in front of Mercedes.

In this way, Verstappen ‘celebrates’ the improvement of past work in Milton Keynes, but believes that they have to take a step forward in order to reach the desired goal – winning the title.

The 21-year-old has analyzed the rivals so far, saying that Mercedes made a better job than them and Ferrari also with a new car, and that they were far ahead of him in order to join the fight for title

“They – Mercedes, have a higher speed. But I am motivated to fight for the pedestal, although of course I would want to win, ” says Verstappen.

“But now Mercedes is too strong. It’s not easy to beat them. “

The Dutchman claims that Red Bull optimized the RB15 every weekend, something that can be seen by the number of points scored in the first third of the season.

However, in order to really think about the title, Verstappen summed up that they need even more to improve.

“We need to get closer so we can think about winning the title. Of course, you’re thinking about it, but you have to work to improve every weekend. So far we have done this to maximize every grand prix, ” he insists.

“We did it this season, maybe not like in Monaco – but to win the title we have to work even more.”

Max Verstappen is currently fourth in the driver’s ranking with 78 points, while Red Bull is third in the constructors’ ranking – only 19 points behind Ferrari.
