VfB Stuttgart has finished the regular season in German Bundesliga with good performance and 0:0 draw against favoured Schalke 04 Gelsenkirchen. Now the team from Stuttgart has to face its biggest challenge of the year: relegation playoff against Union Berlin.

In Gelsenkirchen, VfB Stuttgart left the pitch as the team which just looked better than the hosts. VfB played wisely, with a lot of offensive efforts. During the game, VfB took 16 shots on Schalke’s goal from which half was accurate and forced the goalie of Schalke to do his job. VfB also controlled the game having the ball for around 60% of game time. Unfortunately, the team from Stuttgart wasn’t able to translate this advantage into goals.

Eventually, the game finished with a goalless draw doesn’t hurt Schalke or VfB. Both teams have established their situation in the league earlier before this game. Schalke 04 Gelsenkirchen had a nice adventure in European cup this season but in Bundesliga, things went poorly and it was clear that it will finish the league on 14th place. On the other hand, VfB Stuttgart had bigger ambitions than to finish the season on 16th place and in relegation playoff. But how it reality looks now and the team from Stuttgart has to face it decently. German 1. Bundesliga, game day 34, Schalke 04 Gelsenkirchen – VfB Stuttgart 0:0

VfB Stuttgart finished the regular season on the 16th place and now has to play in the relegation playoff round against Union Berlin – the club which finished the season in 2. Bundesliga on 3rd place.
