Schumi Jr. to replace Vettel in 2021

If Sebastian Vettel actually leaves Formula 1 at the end of 2020, this could mean the end of German nationality in Formula 1. However, there are still contenders and the biggest is Mick Schumacher.

Who will succeed Vettel?

It must not be easy as a Schumacher, to find your way to Formula 1. Your father Michael is the greatest Formula 1 driver in the history of the sport and you might not be as talented as your father. An enormous pressure on the young shoulders and even Helmut Marko has to deal with that.

”The pressure on him is simply incomparable. Mick should have started with a different name in motorsport, but it’s a bit too late for that now”, says Marko in conversation with the German Sport1. Where little is still known about father Michael, mother Corinna sees that her son is enjoying himself.

Schumacher enjoys

“Mick does exactly what he likes and he just wants to see how far he can get. Of course, that’s different with other kids of former Formula 1 drivers. He loves his father and respects what he has done. I’m not worried about him at all,” concludes Michael Schumacher’s wife.

Whether Mick will get a place in Formula 1 in 2021 will mainly depend on his performance in Formula 2. In his first year it was not impressive, but with Prema he has the chance to go for the title in 2020. However, there are great talents ready to beat him, so it won’t be easy at all.
