Joe Biden Left a Secret Message on The White House’s Website

Joe Biden appears to be hitting the ground running as America’s new president, bringing the nation back into the Paris Climate Agreement and teaming up with Amazon to help vaccinate 100 million people in 100 days, alongside a flurry of other positive endeavors. He’s now calling on savvy coders to join his efforts in building a better U.S. through a secret message left on The White House‘s website.

“If you’re reading this, we need your help building back better,” the hidden message reads — a nod to the slogan used in Biden’s campaign. It was quietly tucked away in “www.whitehouse.gov”‘s HTML code as an invitation for coders to consider volunteering for the U.S. Digital Service, a technology unit in the White House initiated by Obama to help revamp some of the government’s services, like Medicare’s payment system. Infotech specialists who end up getting recruited by the Digital Service usually have a term of one to two years.
