I Memorial of Adam Wójcik

FutureNet Śląsk Wrocław, WKK Wrocław, Biofarm Basket Poznań and Elektrobud-Investment ZB Pruszków – these teams will play in the I Memorial of Adam Wójcik – FutureNet Cup. The tournament will be held on September 14-15 in Wrocław.
This year, to commemorate this outstanding basketball player, the teams for which he played during his career will take part in a special tournament. It will be called The I Memorial of Adam Wójcik – FutureNet Cup and held on September 14-15 in Wrocław in the sports hall of Wrocław Academy of Physical Education. The teams invited to the tournament are FutureNet Śląsk Wrocław, WKK Wrocław, Biofarm Basket Poznań and Elektrobud-Investment ZB Pruszków.
UPDATE 17.09.2018 – final results.
On Friday, September 14 two games of the tournament were played. WKK Wrocław beat Biofarm Basket Poznań 104:85 and FutureNet Śląsk Wrocław won with Elektrobud-Investment ZB Pruszków 89:77. It means that both teams from Wrocław reached the great final of the tournament.
On Saturday, Biofarm Basket Poznań clinched third place after a win with Elektrobud-Investment ZB Pruszków 88:82. And in the great finale, FutureNet Śląsk Wrocław was clearly better than WKK Wrocław, winning 93:76.

The I Memorial of Adam Wójcik – FutureNet Cup will be held on September 14-15 in Wrocław. During two days, teams invited to the competition will play 4 games in total. On Friday at 6:00 p.m. Biofarm Basket Poznań will meet WKK Wrocław. On that day but at 8:15PM FutureNet Śląsk Wrocław will play with Elektrobud-Investment ZB Pruszków. On Saturday at 4:00PM, teams which lost its Friday games will play for the third place. And at 6:00PM the great finale in which winners of Friday games will play for the win in an entire tournament.
About Adam Wójcik – patron of the tournament:
Adam Wójcik was one of the best basketball players in Polish history. For many sports fan, until today he’s still a legend and someone who is worth modelling on. During his sports career, Adam Wójcik scored so many titles that it’s hard to mention all of them. Just check these number: he won 8 Polish champions, 14 times silver or bronze medal in Poland, once a champion in Belgium. In Poland, he was a great scorer finishing career with 10 110 points in the national highest league.
Adam Wójcik was also a long-time member of Polish basketball national team, playing 169 games for the senior team in total and performing four times in European Championships. On August 26, 2017, Adam Wójcik passed away after a long illness. He was 47-year-old.
